EMERGE
The EMERGE Mentoring program began in 2008. The program has three main goals, which are to:
Since our beginning in 2008 the EMERGE program has reached over 80 female high school students. The program partners the high schools mentees with a mentor from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. The mentors are junior and senior women students. The Rose-Hulman mentors are then given no more than six mentees to mentor for the entire school year. Having small mentoring groups really helps mentees to develop a since of belonging and trust. In return this generates a lot of discussion and growth for the mentors and mentees alike. The unique part of the EMERGE mentoring program is that 75% of all interactions take place online via the PRISM website through the Moodle Learning Management System.
